10 Tips To Overcome Exam Stress

It’s that time of year again where you have to get the end of school out of the way before you can enjoy your summer in the sunshine. With the end of the school year comes those pesky exams and hand-ins that you’ve been dreading for the last few months. We know it’s easy to get bogged down with the stress of it all so here are our top 10 tricks for beating the exam blues.

  1. No social media.

We know we’ve started with a toughie. You’ll miss the latest Love Island meme, but you’ll be able to focus better without the constant notifications from your group chat.

  1. Keep healthy

There’s a massive temptation to just eat junk food whilst revising for convenience, but it’s best to try to stick to healthier options and keeping active!

  1. Catching those Zs

Set yourself a bedtime, burning the midnight oil will only make it harder for you to retain information!

  1. Playlist vibes

Music is a great way to get into the zone, play your fav spotify playlist whilst hitting those books.

  1. Studying with friends

As Troy once said “We’re all in this together” so grab your friends and form a study group because a problem shared is a problem halved, and what you don’t get, your friend might!

  1. Stay Social

Studying is important, yes, but humans are social creatures! Make sure to get out of the house every now and then and see some friends!

  1. Timetable

Poster- Calendars, bullet journals or just a phone reminder, get yourself organised! Set time aside to do specific tasks  and give yourself a to do list and then watch as each of your tasks get ticked off one by one.

  1. Hydrate

Energy drinks will give you that extra boost, but don’t underestimate the powers of good ‘ol water! Stay hydrated to keep going.

  1. Have a break!

Eyes aching from looking a screen too long? That’s usually a sign that you need to have a break! You aren’t a machine, so make sure you give yourself time to do nothing for a little while.

  1. Treat ‘cho self!

Having sweets is a great incentive to get the job done! A way to keep you going is to hide your favourite sweet on random pages in a revision book and when you’ve reached that page you get to eat a little treat #positivereinforcement
